1 Bedroom Appx 600 sq ft available early Summer 2016 Summer Stay Tuned for updates!!

This unit was once the master bedroom suite for this 4500 sq ft home. It is about 600 square feet and consists of a large living room with a 6 x 8 balcony attached. Also in the apartment are the main bedroom and a large tiled bathroom with tub (also shower combo). The unit also has a small dining area (which could be used as an office) and a small kitchen. Large closets are located at both the North and South end of the living room.

The unit is on the Southeast corner of the building. Combined with its multitude of windows, it is a bright and well-lit unit. If you like to sleep-in in the morning, good luck with all the window exposure and cheery sunlight!

Radiators and a boiler provide heat. Heat is provided during the months of October thru March (6 months). While the owner provides heat, there is an additional monthly charge of $60 during those 6 months to help cover the heat costs.

Ceilings are 9-10 feet!!! Air conditioning is provided by a window air conditioner in the bedroom (with classic double French glass doors which open into the living room). Ceiling fans are located in both the bedroom and living room. Floors are hardwood (or tile bathroom). The dining/kitchen have recently had their original hard wood floor restored. Cooking is provided with gas (paid by owner).

You have your own small private deck, which faces north and east. Privacy is not a problem, neither is the hot west sun.  You are shaded at that time of the day!

While somewhat dated, the bathroom is classic white tile with white fixtures. It is topped off by a classic pedestal sink, which dates to the homes origins.

Wireless internet is available for an additional $10 monthly fee. The building is currently being wired for digital TV via a free access outdoor antenna (new HDTV is supported at NO additional cost). Satellite TV may also be available for a small additional fee. Ask for details.

The onsite manager provides maintenance. Inquire with other tenants for references.

Access to the apartment is provided via a central hallway with access by the west entrance on the west side of the building. Entrance is kept locked 24/7. Additional security is provided by a security camera system, which monitors the outside of the building and inside common areas. No onsite parking is available, but tenants report finding parking on 14 or C streets is not a problem.

An outdoor commons area is well shaded with picnic tables and benches to read a book or sit back and relax. About once per month tenants gather for a barbeque with the gas grill (provided for use to ALL tenants at no charge). If you don’t know your neighbors, that wont last long. We are all neighbors here, and getting to know the other tenants in the building helps with security and provides a sense of family to the building.

If you like to garden, come out front and help with our developing flower garden. If not, merely enjoy its beauty.

Onsite laundry in the basement is available for $1 per load for both the washer and dryer. If you prefer outside air and want to save $1 for drying, the outdoor clothesline provides plenty of space to get the fresh air smell you can’t obtain from the dryer.

PETS: Only cats are allowed. Several tenants have cats. An additional fee (currently $100) is required when your feline moves in. No monthly charges are assessed however; a $10 annual fee after 1 year is required for general maintenance. Proof of spaying or neutering is required. [PS. I guess fish might be possible too if you don’t have a cat who will eat them!]

Sorry, if you are allergic to cats, you are probably best looking for accommodations elsewhere.

Utilities:  Summer time electrical usage tops out at about $40 per month assuming moderate AC usage. Wintertime electrical is about half. [Call the local electric company for exact amounts for past tenants for Apartment 6 1414 “C” street.]  Electricity is the only utility you pay (other than the winter heat fee which is assessed to all units as a FIXED cost).   If its 20 below ZERO, you still will pay the same amount.

Water, garbage and cooking gas is paid by the owner and included in your monthly rent.

THIS IS A NONSMOKING BUILDING IN ALL UNITS AND COMMONS!! No exceptions.
